Thank you for watching my biggest project yet! A completely procedural planet shader that has been my spare time passion project for the last 8 months. With the majority of the time spent on the breakdown, compositing and rendering it has been an interesting project to work on. With one frame taking about 12 minutes to render the whole project took 375 hours, or 16 days, to render. Creating the node network for the planet went surprisingly well, the problems started dropping in at the very beginning of the compositing stage. But as a consequence I learned an immense amount about Lut’s, render layers and to have a proper pipeline name a few. This was the first time I implemented .EXR and Nuke in my pipeline which has probably caused me more headache than functionality. I also produced, mixed and mastered the music in FL Studio being inspired by Hans Zimmer’s scores in Interstellar.
